e-government

Our team has been active in the area of e-government for more than 10 years. Our company started with the development of tools for citizens and administration. Over the course of time, the requirements of municipalities and citizens grew, with the objective of processing information and, as far as possible, transactions with government agencies via the Internet. Today, more and more information can be accessed on the Internet 24 hours a day and more and more transactions with government agencies can be dealt with via the Internet. The citizen-friendly service is popular and is used intensively. Our company has favoured the TYPO3 content management system for two years because it offers several advantages precisely in the area of public administration and municipal institutions:

  • Enterprise-level open source content management system (no licence fees)
  • Multilingual
  • Special extensions for the field of e-government
  • e-government applications by other providers can be integrated with ease
  • Accessible website design in accordance with e-government standards is possible

The accessibility of e-government pages gives visually impaired people the opportunity to efficiently access the information. In many countries, it is now laid down by law that public institutions must provide the content in an accessible form. One final very important point is citizens being able to contact politicians, communication via wish lists, online chat sessions, forums, columns, podcasts and many other online possibilities. One example is the virtual budget, whereby in a self-explanatory software programme, citizens say how they would allocate the money over the next few years to give politicians an idea of where they key areas lie.
