TYPO3
Overview
ECCE TERRAM has been working intensively with content management systems from very early on. Our experience in the field of CMS began in 1996, when ECCE TERRAM developed one of the first content management systems which was and is still used today by major customers such as the German newspaper “DIE ZEIT”, “Computer Zeitung”, a weekly computer publication, and the City of Oldenburg, where TYPO3 is the first choice as an open source solution.
What is a content management system?
Content management systems (CMS) came into being to keep control of the management of growing websites:
- Basically, a CMS enables even “non-programmers” to update web pages with ease. This means, depending on the authorization, content can also be updated locally, in an intuitive and comfortable user interface.
- In this context, splitting the design/layout and content into separate processes is a crucial factor.
- A CMS can be added to freely at any time and can be upgraded freely for new areas and functionalities. Setting up a CMS is geared towards meeting today’s requirements as well as the very predictable requirements of the future.
Our tasks and services are in the key areas of installation, customizing, creating templates, training, system maintenance, further development and hosting.
What makes TYPO3 stand out?
The CMS market has grown considerably in a short space of time and in the past year TYPO3 has developed into the absolute shooting-star of the CMS scene. It differs from conventional systems in several ways. It offers a large number of features and additional modules, which enable the system to also be used in the Enterprise segment without any trouble.
Open Source
TYPO3 with all modules is provided completely as open source software and therefore makes the user totally independent from the manufacturer when undertaking further maintenance of the system.
With regard to public administration, TYPO3 also provides the opportunity to realize the corresponding workflows.
